Who's in the room

How can attendees find the right people to speak to at an event?

Give them three things: a live view of who is in the room, a match based on what each person needs, and a conversation starter for each suggestion. Without those, attendees default to the people they already know and the most useful pairing in the room never happens.

Why the right people never meet

At most events, attendees speak to two or three people, usually the ones they arrived with. Your regulars cluster. Your newest attendee leaves without meeting the person they came for. Nothing about that is a failure of effort, it is a failure of information.

A delegate list of names and job titles does not solve it either. A job title tells you what someone does, not what they need this week.

    The three things attendees need

    1. 1Visibility: an opt-in, live view of who is actually in the room, not who registered weeks ago.
    2. 2Intent: what each person is looking for and what they can offer, in their own words.
    3. 3A reason: a specific explanation of why two people should speak, which doubles as the opening line.

    How WITR handles it

One QR code, no download. Attendees add a short ask and offer and see the live attendee list. Smart Connections compares everyone's stated needs and suggests specific people to meet, with the reason for each match and a conversation starter. Organisers see the same activity through Impact Analytics, so the room's demand is visible rather than guessed at.

    • A live, opt-in view of who is actually present
    • Matching based on stated needs rather than job titles
    • A short shortlist per attendee, not a directory
    • A reason and a conversation starter for every suggestion
    • Follow-up afterwards for anyone missed on the day
    • Aggregate demand data for the organiser

    Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as speed networking?

No. Speed networking forces everyone through a timed rotation. This lets each attendee choose a small number of relevant conversations at their own pace.

What if attendees do not fill in what they want?

Keep it to one ask and one offer, collected at the point of joining. It takes seconds, which is why most of the room completes it.

Does the organiser see who met whom?

Organisers see aggregate connection activity. Attendee-level data is anonymised after 48 hours.

How big does a room need to be for this to help?

It helps from about 20 people upwards, and matters more the larger and less familiar the room becomes.
