AI Event Matchmaking

AI event matchmaking for better face-to-face conversations

WITR's AI Smart Connections suggest who each attendee should speak to - and why - so the room turns into useful conversations rather than aimless small talk.

AI event matchmaking is software that looks at what attendees share about themselves and what they're looking for, then suggests other people in the same room worth speaking to. WITR does this through Smart Connections: attendees opt in, briefly share their intent for the event, and see a short list of relevant people plus a warm conversation starter for each. It's designed to help real face-to-face networking happen faster, not to replace it.

    • Suggestions based on what attendees choose to share
    • Warm conversation starters, not scripted messages
    • Optional per event - organisers can switch it off
    • Runs in the browser, no app download
    • Designed for in-person conversations, not chat inside an app
    • Privacy-conscious data handling built in

    What is AI event matchmaking?

AI event matchmaking uses the information attendees choose to share - their role, their intent for the day, what they're offering, what they're looking for - to surface a short list of people worth speaking to face to face. WITR calls this AI Smart Connections. The point isn't to replace networking. The point is to make sure attendees don't leave the room without speaking to the people they should have met.

How WITR's AI Smart Connections work

    1. Attendees scan the WITR QR code and opt in.
    2. They share a short intent - what they're looking for and offering.
    3. WITR uses that context to suggest a small set of relevant people in the same room.
    4. Each suggestion comes with a warm conversation starter, so nobody has to walk up cold.
    5. Attendees decide who to actually approach. The conversation happens in person.

Why attendee intent matters more than job titles

A job title is a poor guide to whether a conversation will be useful. An operations lead who's raising funding, an operations lead who's hiring, and an operations lead who wants to swap notes on suppliers are all looking for different rooms. WITR asks attendees a simple question about intent so matches are grounded in what people actually came for.

    Privacy-conscious AI use

Smart Connections use only what attendees choose to share, and only for suggestions during and shortly after the event. AI features are optional per event and can be switched off entirely. See our Privacy, AI Transparency and Responsible Use Statement for how personal data and AI use are handled.

    AI Event Matchmaking FAQs

Does AI Smart Connections replace networking?+

No. It suggests people worth speaking to in the same room and gives a warm starter. The conversation itself is human and happens face to face.

    Can organisers switch AI off?+

Yes. AI Smart Connections are optional per event. WITR can be run entirely without AI features for compliance-sensitive events.

What information does the AI use?+

Only what attendees choose to share when they opt in - role, intent, what they're offering, what they're looking for. It does not scrape LinkedIn or other external sources without consent.

Is this an AI dating app for events?+

No. It's designed for professional networking. Suggestions are based on stated intent, and attendees choose who they approach.

How is this different from a directory?+

A directory is a long list. Smart Connections is a short, ranked shortlist based on what each attendee is actually looking for.
